Periods of rain will continue this afternoon. Rain will be steadiest over southwest Kentucky and northwest Middle Tennessee, where a Flood Watch remains in effect until 3 am, Friday. Southeastern Middle Tennessee will have mainly dry weather this afternoon, with just an occasional light shower.

FRIDAY: Periods of rain which may slow your drive down at times. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s. Winds will be south at 5-15 mph. A couple of showers may linger into Friday evening, but it will briefly become partly cloudy with lows near 40. Rain totals will range from a half inch to 1.5 inches north of I-40 into southeast KY.

The First Alert Weather Team says a warm TGIIF is on the way, with Friday forecasted to be the warmest day in more than two months.

Sunshine and warmer temperatures got the work week off to a great start and there’s more to come. A warmer pattern is in place for several days, but enjoy the sunshine while it’s here because rain will move in before the week is over.
