A sharply divided Supreme Court on Thursday rejected President-elect Donald Trump’s final bid to put his New York hush-money case on hold, clearing the way for him to be sentenced for felony crimes days before he returns to the presidency.

A New York top court denied Trump’s bid to delay sentencing in hush money case, while his appeal at the U.S. Supreme Court remains pending.

The US Supreme Court on Thursday (Jan 9) cleared the way for Donald Trump to be sentenced for the president-elect's conviction on criminal charges involving hush money paid to a porn star, with two conservative justices joining the three liberal members in a 5-4 decision.
