Ruben Amorim has declared that he would rather put his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital on the bench than players such as Marcus Rashford who are not giving the “maximum”.

Ruben Amorim has given a forthright and damning evaluation of why Marcus Rashford has not featured for Manchester United since December. The comments came after Rashford was once again not involved in the squad as Manchester United won 1-0 at Fulham on Sunday.

Ruben Amorim said he will play his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach before picking a player that “does not give the maximum”, as he criticised Marcus Rashford ’s work ethic in training.
