A memo appears to allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to target programs that let in more than a million people.

The Trump administration is powering ahead with efforts to ramp up immigration enforcement, opening up the possibility of targeting migrants who entered through Biden-era programs and invoking an obscure immigration statute to make it easier to deputize state and local law enforcement to arrest and detain immigrants in the U.

The Trump administration gave authorities permission to revoke some migrants' legal status. Meanwhile, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt posted that President Trump's promised mass deportation operation is now underway on Friday.

The first couples are expected to have tea ahead of the president-elect's inauguration, a courtesy Trump did not extend Biden four years ago.

President Biden and President-elect Donald Trump have left the White House to travel to the Capitol for the inauguration. The two got into a car at 10:38am along with Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D., Minn.) who serves as chairwoman of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.

Shortly before leaving the White House at the end of his term of office, US President Joe Biden posted a photograph of himself and his wife. "One more selfie for the road. We love you, America," he wrote on the platform X on Monday morning.
