Lackawanna council votes to ban Airbnb, short-term rentals
LACKAWANNA, N.Y. — The City of Lackawanna voted Monday night to ban transient or short-term rentals, commonly listed as Airbnbs. Short-term rentals will be prohibited in all districts of the city. The measure passed 3-2 during the meeting and will officially change the municipal code in the city.
Another New York City Has Banned Airbnb and Other Short Term Rentals
Towards the end of 2023 the city of Buffalo took action to ban short term rentals using platforms like AirBnb, preventing property owners from making their properties available. Now the city of Lackawanna is joining the growing list of cities and towns.
