Jack Sawyer convinced many of his senior teammates to return to Ohio State for a chance to win a title. His unforgettable scoop-and-score TD propelled the Buckeyes to a win over Texas and one step closer to that goal.

Ohio State defensive end Jack Sawyer ran a fumble back 83 yards for a touchdown to seal the Buckeyes' 28-14 win over Texas on Friday night in the College Football Playoff semifinals. Sawyer hit Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers before he could throw before scooping up the bouncing football and housing it for a game-defining play in a tightly contested Cotton Bowl.

The 1970s Bucs were awful, kind of like the first half of Friday’s game. Both Ohio State and Texas put a capital C on Clunky, as the teams combined for 14 penalties (OSU had nine for 75 yards), multiple dropped passes, poor quarterback throws, missed tackles and sloppy overall … execution.
