A light, 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck in Southern California on Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey. The temblor happened at 1:03 p.m. Pacific time about seven miles southwest of Westlake Village, Calif., data from the agency shows. U.S.G.S. data earlier reported that the magnitude was 4.2.

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake occurred off the coast of southeast Taiwan at 1:09 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Central Weather Administration. The CWA said its epicenter was 53 km northeast of Taitung County Hall,

The earthquake hit on Sunday at 1:03 p.m. It was followed by a magnitude 2.5 earthquake a minute later, and magnitude 3 and magnitude 2.8 aftershocks at 1:07 p.m.
