Former Georgia Tech tight end Jackson Hawes has been one of the standouts for the American Team during the practices for the Senior Bowl, which is set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Hancock Whitney Stadium.

Last season’s Friday night showdown between Georgia and Georgia Tech, a game that needed eight overtimes to settle, was so good that they’re running it back in 2025. In reality, the quality of that game probably has little to do with it but the game will be played on Friday again.

Georgia has played a game in Mercedes-Benz every year since the stadium opened in 2017. Most of those games were SEC championships, but the Bulldogs also played Alabama in the 2017-2018 national championship, Oregon in 2022 and Clemson in 2024 at Mercedes-Benz for the Bulldogs’ season opener.

For the second straight year, the Georgia versus Georgia Tech football rivalry will be played on a Friday. The 2025 version of the game was originally scheduled for Saturday, November 29th at Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta.
