Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan will recreate a famous scene from 1989's 'When Harry Met Sally' for a Hellmann's Super Bowl commercial

Super Bowl 59 kicks off Feb. 9, but commercials featuring celebrities have already started rolling out in snippets. Brands pay big bucks to get their clips, which often have some of the hottest Hollywood talent available star in 30 seconds to a minute’s worth of a commercial.

Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of their beloved movie, Crystal and Ryan returned to the famed Katz’s Deli in New York City to recreate one of the film’s most famous scenes, where the floors were still greasy, the commotion was still loud, and, well, the orgasms were still very fake.

The two actors revisit an iconic scene from their legendary romantic comedy in the commercial, a nostalgia play titled “When Sally Met Hellmann’s” (watch below). Ryan and Crystal play friends whose connection turns romantic in the 1989 movie written by Nora Ephron and directed by Rob Reiner.

When Sally Met Hellmann’s, a Super Bowl 2025 commercial via VML, brings back actors Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan 35 years after the 80s hit When Harry Met Sally. And the famous line from a scene in Katz’s Delicatessen is resurrected: “I’ll have what she’s having.”

The commercial, created by VML, was shot at the famed Katz’s Deli, with Meg and Billy back at the same table where they filmed the original scene, as well as Sydney delivering the famous line from the same table it was delivered at 35 years ago.
