The Carolina Hurricanes have partnered with the NHL to fund the construction of two new street hockey rinks. Located at Apex Community Park, the two rinks will be 160x75 foot featuring aluminum prefabricated dasher board systems, player benches, penalty boxes, scorekeeper boxes, chain length fencing, Mateflex sport court tile and scoreboards.

RALEIGH, N.C. - Doug Warf, President of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that construction is underway on two new street hockey rinks at Apex Community Park. The rinks are the result of a partnership between the team and the NHL’s Industry Growth Fund, through which $550,000 was provided to fund the project.
The Carolina Hurricanes have made plenty of headlines lately with their acquisition of Mikko Rantanen, the star forward in the NHL, but just like most trades, there will be an adjustment period for him. They also added former #1 overall pick Taylor Hall, who will slot in on the second line.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Hurricanes explored trades involving Vancouver Canucks stars J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, but ultimately pivoted at the last moment. Speaking on "The Daily Faceoff Rundown" on Monday, Frank Seravalli revealed that Carolina could also have “inquired” about Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner.
