WASHINGTON, D.C. (U.S. SENATOR TAMMY BALDWIN PRESS RELEASE) -U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) released a statement on her vote to confirm former Rep. Sean Duffy as Secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOT).

The Senate confirmed Sean Duffy as the secretary of transportation in a 77 to 22 vote on Tuesday.

Duffy does not have a background in transportation, similar to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg when he arrived four years ago.

President Donald Trump said Duffy would use his past experience in Congress to help rebuild the country’s infrastructure and improve travel safety.

The Senate is set to vote on the confirmation of Sean Duffy as transportation secretary, with wide bipartisan support expected.

Duffy, 53, cleared the upper chamber in a 77-22 vote after his nomination received the approval of all 28 members of the Senate Commerce Committee.
