Republican voters in several Florida counties head to the polls on Tuesday, where they will select GOP nominees to fill seats that were held by former Reps. Michael Waltz and Matt Gaetz.

Two Republicans endorsed by President Donald Trump will win their special primaries Tuesday, moving one step closer to bringing Speaker Mike Johnson a little breathing room for the GOP’s narrow majority in the House.

Trump’s move to pause all federal grants and loans is a “legitimate exercise of executive oversight,” said House Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole, R-Okla., who is often considered an institutionalist who has insisted upon the importance of Congressional power. “I don’t think putting a hold on things is extraordinary.”
