A 4-year-old girl from the Lansing area, considered to be endangered, was to be removed from her parents care.

According to Michigan State Police, deputies with the Clinton County Sheriff's Office were court ordered to remove a 4-year-old girl from her parents because she was allegedly in danger. However, before deputies could do so, the parents fled with the child. Police believe the parents somehow learned that their child was being taken.

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office says parents who were about to lose legal custody of their "endangered" 4-year-old daughter took off with her before deputies could serve a removal order.

The Clinton County Sheriff confirms with 6 News the girl has been located in Lansing and is now safe. There is no word on her parent's situation at this time.
