A low-pressure system is expected to pass well south of Massachusetts on Tuesday night, bringing little to no snowfall for much of the state. But the Bay State won’t be shut out entirely. National Weather Service forecasters say the islands could see an inch of snow, while Cape Cod and the South Coast should get a light coating.

Another band of snow is expected to hit the Baltimore area Tuesday with schools and businesses preparing for potentially hazardous conditions.
